Basic Tofu Scramble
Add or take away as suits your tastes or needs. This dish can always benefit from the addtion of sauteed mushrooms, greens, garlic, onions, tomatoes, olives; whatever your heart desires. We serve ours with big dollops of horseradish or HP Sauce.
1 lb medium firm water-packed tofu, crumbled
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tsp tumeric powder (for that lovely yellow colour)
1 tsp poultry seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
oil for frying
Heat your skillet on medium then add the oil. After a minute or two add all remaining ingredients and cook, stirring frequently, until tofu has achieved your desired consistancy. We like ours quite dry.
