Welcome to VeganMania Recipes! Thanks for bearing with us as we make the switch-over to our exciting new look complete. You’re going to notice a lot of new recipes being added to the site over the next little while, plus some cool new features and sections, like a search function, menu ideas, a handy list of what this vegan family keeps in their pantry, and more. Keep your eyes on this space for news and updates!

VeganMania has been a recipe site since way back in 1998. It started mainly as a way for me to keep track of the vegan recipes I knew were real winners. In the beginning of my family’s veganism I found that taking recipes from the web was a really hit-and-miss kind of game - more than half the time I tried something it turned out to be a real dud. I wanted a way to post the “keepers” for friends and family to see, and for my own sake, too, so I could go back and make the good ones again and again.

Over time, though, my confidence and skill level grew. VeganMania evolved into a personal collection of recipes that basically function as my own cookbook. Aside from one or two here or there, you’ll find that most of the recipes now featured on VeganMania are originals, either far removed from a recipe I gleaned inspiration from, translations of old family recipes, or my very own creations. Many times I have been asked why I haven’t put together my own cookbook. The truth of the matter is, I much prefer to share my knowledge with people freely, hoping that more skeptics will be willing to sample a vegan dish knowing it is given freely, rather than having to purchase an entire cookbook based on speculation. I believe information wants to be free! And I believe that the more we can do to make it easy for people to choose vegan food over all other kinds, the better it is - for them, for the earth, and for the animals.

I’m so happy to have been with you for nearly ten years now. My children have grown up on a vegan diet and my husband and I have felt our connection to all living things deepen and broaden further and further every year that we stick with our commitment to this lifestyle. More important to me than anything else is that I help show others how easy, delicious, and non-restrictive vegan cooking and eating is.
