The Best Guacamole
All credit for this recipe must go to my Mom. She’s the grooviest! She actually worked as a chef in a Mexican restaurant many years ago, so she knows what she’s doing!
4 – 6 ripe avocados (depending on size)
1 chopped tomato
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1/4 cup chopped hot banana peppers
2-3 minced jalapeno peppers
2-3 minced garlic cloves
3 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 tsp salt
Chop, don’t mash, avocadoes with two knives or a pastry blender. Add all other ingredients and stir until blended.
To keep guac’ from discolouring, reserve the avocado pits and place in the serving dish with the guac’. Just make sure you warn whoever is eating it that they are NOT edible.
